Power quality event collection

Collected power quality events from EMH and Janitza meters for E.ON Live and designed a hardware test bench for repeatable event simulation.

E.ON
CONTEXT

The problem

E.ON Live and Take Control needed field event collection and a developer-friendly hardware environment for testing impact mapping and power quality use cases.

RESPONSIBILITY

What Henrik owned

Henrik worked on collection of power quality events from EMH and Janitza meters, supported frontend developers using the event data and designed the simulation test bench for voltage dips and digital impact events.

DELIVERY

Work delivered

  • Collected power quality event data from EMH meters
  • Collected power quality event data from Janitza meters
  • Connected collected events to the E.ON Live work
  • Supported frontend developers building views on top of the event data
  • Designed an automation-cabinet test bench for Take Control Impact Mapping
  • Specified relay and switch based digital event simulation using ADAM I/O, Exqube and Raspberry Pi control
  • Specified Janitza-based power quality event simulation using variable transformer input
  • Included current measurement, RS-485 I/O and Teltonika RUT950 connectivity in the test environment
APPROACH

Technical approach

The event collection work made power quality events available to E.ON Live. The separate test bench gave developers a repeatable way to generate impact events, voltage dips, current measurements and other digital signals without depending on live field conditions.

OUTCOME

Where it stands

Power quality event collection and repeatable hardware simulation supported E.ON Live and Take Control development.
