The problem

Field technicians needed a simple way to verify meter connectivity, SIM-card status and communication paths while on site.

Henrik served as application architect for the field test tool and designed the Azure Static Web App, Azure Functions backend and external service integrations.

Work delivered

• Built the technician web application as an Azure Static Web App
• Used single sign-on for authenticated access
• Implemented backing Azure Functions
• Integrated with a simple Flask API running in the metering supplier’s environment
• Fetched SIM-card data from an MNO platform API
• Issued pings and sample communication checks to verify the signal path from modem to meter

The field test tool is in use today for meter connection verification.
